Angel Is Dead (2017)

​"Angel Is Dead" is a 2017 South Korean drama directed by No Zin-soo. The film follows Do-kyung (Shin Won-ho), recently discharged from military service, who meets the enigmatic Ga-in (Kim Hwa-yeon) on a boat to an isolated island. They reconnect that evening at the Yubari Pub and spend the night together. As Ga-in's obsession with Do-kyung intensifies, he struggles to distance himself from her growing fixation. ​

Ga-in is portrayed as a woman deeply affected by the loss of her daughter, Angel, which has led her into a state of suicidal masochism. The narrative delves into themes of grief, obsession, and the complexities of human relationships.​

The film premiered internationally at the 27th Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival in March 2017.
